007 Shoots at Charing Cross Station After their recent filming in Greenwich in East London, the 'Skyfall' crew were back in central London on January 12 for some shooting on a major chase sequence. Daniel Craig also rejoined the film after completing some promotional work in Europe for his 'Dragon Tattoo' movie. The central London filming took place in streets near Charing Cross mainline Overground station and also down in the Underground station, which is attached to the main station complex. Production unit vehicles at one point were parked along the nearby Mall which runs parallel to the River Thames. Above ground, Daniel was filmed emerging rapidly on foot from a pedestrian stairwell which exits the Underground station near the main taxi and car-parking area at the main station. Wearing an earpiece, he was also filmed dashing along the pavements in streets near the main Charing Cross overground station as part of the chase sequence. Filming also took place below ground on a disused Jubilee Line platform in the Underground station. This particular platform was closed to the public in November 1999, but is still maintained by TfL (Transport for London) specifically for use by TV and film crews, which generate valuable income for the tube network. It is believed the station will double as Temple Station in the final edit of 'Skyfall'. Please note: the above has been self-censored and edited to remove spoilers. |
