Harris and Marlohe Interviewed in 'Empire'

The new issue of the popular British movie magazine 'Empire' (March, 2012), which has just hit news-agents and other retail outlets in the UK, contains interviews with, and profiles of, the two leading Bond women in 'Skyfall', Naomie Harris and Berenice Marlohe.

Both profiles, written by Owen Williams, contain information previously contained in other interviews, but at the same time still provide useful insights into the contributions of both women to the new 007 adventure.

Naomie Harris revealed a little more about the process that led to her being cast as field agent Eve. 'I was in Danny Boyle's Frankenstein at the National Theatre, and Debbie McWilliams, who casts all of the Bond movies, came to see it, and then so did Sam Mendes, and they asked me to come in and audition for Skyfall. They were a bit unsure at first, and they told me to be much stronger, but I only had two auditions, then I was cast!'

Harris also said: 'My scenes are largely with Daniel, which is fantastic. You never really know until you start working with someone, but thankfully he's absolutely gorgeous and very open and completely down-to-earth'. She also said that her character Eve is a 'great role. She's attractive and intelligent and multi-dimensional; she's got a lot going on'.

Berenice Marlohe, who plays the mysterious Severine in the movie, said she will do her best at 'creating a wonderful, unusual character. I'm sure you will enjoy her very much! As a character I will have a wonderful time interacting with wonderful, sexy, intelligent me'.

Regarding Daniel Craig, Marlohe said: 'My scenes were both with Daniel Craig. It was great because he's a wonderful human being in person, so it's a real pleasure. He's very natural and sensitive and interesting to watch as an actor'. She also added later in the 'Empire' profile that she is 'working on creating a character as I would for any movie, which is to make her interesting for me'.

The 'Empire' profiles come not long after both Bond women gave their first official interviews for 'Live' magazine on January 15. 'Skyfall' is released in November, 2012.
